A free CPR and Defibrillator training course was organised by Great Sankey Parish Council on Saturday 20th July at Hood Manor Community Centre.
The training session was open to anyone who was interested in attending and proved to be a big hit.

A special thanks is given to Ade an NHS Medic, who ran the course. The main aim of the session was to give those who attended the skills and confidence to use a defibrillator and perform CPR. It was a knowledgeable and enjoyable session, which potentially could save someone’s life.
Statistics show that if a defibrillator is used within 3 to 5 minutes of someone having a cardiac arrest, survival rates can be as high as 50–70%. Each minute of delay to defibrillation reduces the probability of survival by 10%, this is why access to public defibrillators is so important.
Due to the positive response, the Parish Council will be running a three-hour comprehensive session later on in the year at Hood Manor Community Centre.
