GSPC WIFI Policy

1. Introduction

Great Sankey Parish Council provides free WIFI access for customers in its community
centres and expects all customers to adhere to the following regulations.

2. Conditions of use

Use of this service is subject to the following:

2.1 The service is intended to be used for general purposes, including accessing the
internet, email, messaging services and chat forums. Customers undertake that they
will use the services responsibly and behave in a lawful, honest and proper manner
when accessing the services.

2.2 Great Sankey Parish Council will endeavour to ensure an uninterrupted service whilst
the Community Centre is open. The Parish Council will not be liable if, for any reason,
the service is not available at any time for any period.

2.3 Great Sankey Parish Council will not be liable for any loss of data or damage to the
equipment used as a result of using this service.

2.4 Great Sankey Parish Council reserves the right to terminate the service in the event of:
− any behaviour which has a negative effect on the council’s equipment or network.
− any use of the equipment, network or internet which damages, or has the potential
to damage, the reputation of Great Sankey Parish Council.

3. Restrictions

Customers may not:

3.1 use the service for any illegal purpose including, but not limited to, breaching any
intellectual property or computer misuse legislation, downloading or uploading any
illegal material.

3.2 send any unsolicited commercial email or “spam” or any activity related to it,
carry out any hacking activities such as attempting to access systems without proper
authorisation.

3.3 carry out any denial-of-service attacks.

3.4 use the service for gambling or accessing adult material of any kind.

4 Termination of service

4.3 You must terminate using the service if asked to do so by any member of staff or Parish
Councillor.

4.4 No reason for termination is required to be given.
